Who Wore It Better? Christmas, Hanukkah, or Pepsi?

Who Wore It Better?

Hello everyone. Welcome to Who Wore It Better...Christmas, Pepsi, or Hanukkah?

You might be wondering where this idea came from.
Let me explain.

The other day I noticed this Pepsi Twist can on the shelf and I immediately thought of the Vortex stamp in my stash at home, and I started to think of ways to combine this stamp and the Pepsi can into a card idea.

Then I thought of those "Who Wore It Better" memes and decided to make a Christmas and Hanukkah card, coloring each with only 2 markers representing the colors of each holiday - and see, "Who Wore It Better".

And that, my friends, is where this out-of-this-world idea came from.  LOL

To make the cards:

  • I stamped the Vortex stamp on white cardstock using Tuxedo Black ink from Memento because that ink is one of the inks that work well with Sharpie markers.  Then I die-cut each stamped image using a 3.75" x 5" stitched rectangle die.

  • I colored the Christmas piece using a red and green Sharpie marker.  I also colored the Hanukkah piece using a blue and yellow Sharpie marker.  Turned out the yellow was Neon...but I think it worked?

To finish the Christmas card:
  • I made an A2 card base using red cardstock.
  • I die-cut a piece of gold cardstock using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die and adhered it to the red card base.
  • I adhered a piece of fun foam to the back of my colored Vortex and then to the card front.
  • I stamped a Merry Christmas sentiment (sadly, sold out) but you could use A Very Merry ChristmasSeason of Joy, or the Season's Greetings Sentiment, in place of the Merry Christmas.  I die-cut it using a circle die, then the next size up to die-cut a piece of red cardstock.  I adhered a piece of fun foam under the sentiment and then to the card front.
  • Lastly, I added some red crystals to the card front.

To finish the Hanukkah card:
  • I made an A2 card base using blue cardstock.
  • I die-cut a piece of silver glitter cardstock using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die and adhered it to the card base.
  • I adhered a piece of fun foam to the back of my colored Vortex piece and then to the card front.
  • Using Happy Hanukkah, Set of 2, I stamped Happy Hanukkah on a piece of white cardstock, layered it on a piece of blue, then to the front of the card.  Then I stamped the inside sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and adhered this to the inside.
  • Lastly, I adhered some blue crystals to the card front.

So, be honest, which card wore the can of Pepsi Twist better?  Christmas or Hanukkah?  Or both!  Let me know in the comment section.

Thanks for joining me on the blog today.  Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.

You're The Man!

I had so much fun making this birthday card for guys!  I stamped Marble Paper in Cherry Cobbler for the background and added the burnished gold and ribbon banners.  Stamped the sentiment from the Inside Out: Young at Heart set (no longer available, but check out these other great man-related stamps: MEN). I die cut the banner and sponged some Crumb Cake around the edges.  Stamped, colored and fussy cut King of Hearts and popped him up with foam mounts.  Inside it says, "AN OLD MAN, BUT STILL THE MAN".  Get these fun stamps and so many more at TechniqueJunkies.com.  Use my code TJ10Faith for 10% off your order!

That Smile

 Hey Crafty Friends -

Who doesn’t need a little extra sunshine and joy in their day? That’s exactly what I’m sharing with this cheerful, smile-spreading card featuring the "That Smile" and "Black Queen" stamp sets! I thought it would be so fun to send a dose of happiness through a handmade card that celebrates positivity and beauty.

I started by stamping the gorgeous image with black ink onto white cardstock. Then, to add a playful twist, I masked the image and used a checker-patterned stencil, adding a pop of bold red ink diagonally across the image. When the mask came off, I stamped the empowering "Black Queen" sentiment over the top, tying it together with this pretty image.

To bring the design to life, I colored the image with alcohol markers! It’s a mix of bold patterns, rich colors, and an empowering message that’s sure to brighten anyone’s day.

Brightly Shining

Deb here with a quick and easy holiday card . I used the Brightly Shining stamp and created these 2 cards in no time at all.The hardest part was trying to decide which papers to use. on my card bases. I finally chose the Star of Bethlehem paper pad from Hobby Lobby .

  • I stamped the image with Impression Obsession mini ink pads - Canary & Navy - on white cardstock.
  • The images were cut with a scalloped oval die.
  • I adhered the patterned paper onto Kraft card bases.
  • A large gold rhinestone was placed in the center of the large star on each card .
  • On the card on the left, I also placed navy rhinestones in each small star.
  • The sentiment ovals were adhered to each card front with foam tabs.

Warm Winter Reflections

                     Warm Winter Reflections

Today’s card features the Warm Winter Wishes stamp set along with the Fir Forest background stamp, but as you’ll see …I did something a little different.  I created a reflection card inspired by the Stampscapes Facebook group.  What’s different is your written message is on the back of the card and the inside is a scene that kind of…dances due to the reflection from the mirror card stock used.  I’ll do my best to break it down.  It’s not difficult - really!

What you’ll need:
White card stock 2 pieces 4.25x5.5 each
Blue card stock 2 pieces 4.25x5.5
Black card base A2 size (4.25x5.5)
Silver Mirror card stock 4.25x5.5
Holographic card stock of your choice. I used a starry holographic design.
Staz-On black ink pad
White ink pad or embossing pad and white embossing powder
Small blue crystal gems (these are optional)
Red glitter card stock scrap or red card stock will work
Red ink pad
Foam pieces - just a few little pieces is all you need.  (If you don’t have foam - stack and glue a few scrap pieces of card stock then put these behind the bunny).

Random size snowflakes - you can punch these out, use stickers, use die cuts, or stamp these if you have snowflake rubber stamps.

To make this card…

Front:  On the blue card stock Stamp these Warm Winter Wishes sentiment in white ink or use white embossing powder. Add random size white snowflakes.  I had a snowflake punch I used on the side of the blue piece so I put white card stock underneath. The punch I have is old so use what you have and add white snowflakes to the front.

Inside Top:  Take the 4.25x5.5 piece of holographic card stock and stamp the Fir Forest on the bottom using the Staz-On black ink.  Set aside to dry. It should dry quickly.  After it is dry adhere it to the inside of your black card

Inside bottom half: Cut a scrap piece of white card stock in a wavy design so it resembles snow.  See example.  Glue to the bottom of the silver mirror card stock.

Next: Stamp and color the bunny from the Warm Winter Wishes set, color, and fussy cut.  Add foam pieces behind it then adhere to the bottom right side of the snow.  See photo for placement.

Stamp “Sending you warm hugs” in red and layer on top of a piece of red or red glitter card stock.  Adhere to the left side of the snow.

Back:  This is where you write your message.  I first adhered a piece of blue card stock to the back then I glued a white piece that was slightly smaller.  Add a snowflake and the rest of the space is for your note.

Optional:  Add blue gems on the trees and tiny snowflakes randomly around the trees and on the mirror piece. See photo.

If you add gems to your trees be sure to add a piece of card stock in between when you store this card and mail it so the gems don’t dent the mirror card stock.

I know this card was different. I’d love to know what you think. I hope you’ll give this a try.
